RE-BOOTING PDA

Performing a Warm Boot - Soft reset

Hold down the Power button for approximately five seconds. As soon as the EDA starts to boot release the Power button.

Performing a Cold Boot - Hard reset

To perform a cold boot simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.

Connect to Access Point
 
1. In Taskbar - bottom right - Click on Blue Icon
2. menu appears
3. select "Find WLANS"
4. Find "PeachPDA" or your own Access point
5. Click on the SSID and connect (remember the Channel number 1-11)
6. Leave Name & SSID --> Next>>>
7. Operating Mode, change from Infrastructure to AD-HOC 
8. Set Country (not important) --> Next>>>
9. set the Channel which you remembered from step 5..  --> Next>>>
10. Encryption = 40Bit (for PeachPDA White Tenda Access Point)
11. Tick Use Passkey - Next>>>
12. enter "peachpda" as passkey - Next>>>
13. DHCP - Next>>>
14. Transmit Power = FULL - Next>>>
15. Battery Usage = CAM
16. Finish....
 
thats all for now...
test that and see if it works...

Q. I have received the PDA thanks it works great accept I cannot get the  scanner working, Can you please advise how to turn the scanner on.
 
A. You need to run the datawedge program to enable the scanner. It should be in the "application" folder.
 
Lets not be so vague with each other !!!!!
 
Start > Programs > FileExplorer > At the top select My Device > Applications > Data Wedge.    Once clicked the Scanner is now on.

This Guide will help you setup Internet & Phone on the Symbol MC50 & MC70 Series


Setup PDA BEFORE inserting SIM

1. First turn OFF Phones, WiFi and Blutooth by clicking;
 Start(Windows Icon top Left) > Settings > Connections Tab > Wireless manager > Tap "All" power button. Then close out of that screen,
2. Back to the settings page click "Connections" > Manage Existing Connection > DELETE any existing that you do not know of by clicking and holding down stylus over the "Name" of the connection.


Inserting the SIM

1. Remove the battery from the back of the PDA
2. Insert the SIM in its respective holding area
3. Turn PDA back on and turn the Wifi, Phone and Bluetooth back on by following 'Step 1' again.


Setup GPRS Connection using SIM Card

1. To setup the GPRS goto Start(Windows Icon top Left) > Settings > Connections Tab > Connections > "Add a new modem connection"
2. Enter a name for the connection like 'GPRS DATA' > For the 'Select a modem' Choose 'Cellular Line (GPRS)'
3. The Access Point Name (APN) would be give by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) e.g. Telstra would read "telstra.internet"
4. Leave the next windows with Username, Password and Domain blank just click next and FINISH.


Connect to the Newly Setup GPRS Connection

Start(Windows Icon top Left) > Settings > Connections Tab > Connections > Manage Existing Connections > Click and hold stylus on connection and select "Connect". Wait for this process to complete, when its done you will see its connection to the 'Edge' Network and a 'E' will appear at the top of your screen.
