Product Kits allows you to take part numbers and quantities from stock and transfer them into one kit number for resale. This would be useful for example if you wanted a clutch kit in stock but only had all the products as individuals on the shelf. You would create a kit number containing all the individual parts for the clutch kit, this would then take the quantities for the part numbers out of stock and put one in stock of your newly created kit number, so that when you sell the clutch kit you only sell one item number as apposed to three. Navigation At the base of the screen you will see a navigation bar. Click the left arrow to move to the previous part or the right arrow to move to the next part. This can also be achieved by pressing the PgUP key to move to the previous part or press the PgDn key to move to the next part. Click the far left arrow or the Home Key to move to the first customer. Click the far right arrow all the End key to move to the last part. A part may be book marked by clicking the pin to the left of the word navigate. Other Customers may then be reviewed. Click the arrow key to the right of the word navigate to return to that part. Command Buttons You will notice a number of large command buttons to the left of the screen. Either clicking with the mouse or pressing a function key activates these buttons. They operate as toggle buttons enabling functions to be turned on and then off. The edit button enables or disables editing the details. You will notice a large blue R to the right of the search box. This indicates that Kit Control is in review only mode and will not allow editing of details. When the button is pressed a yellow E appears. This enables editing of all product details excluding statistics and balances. If the Kit Control screen is closed and re-opened it will default to read-only mode. As you move between Kits there is no need to turn the edit mode off. Normally leave it in edit until you have finished editing all kit details. Search Kit F3 The F3 search button is used to reposition the cursor into the search box. The note button toggles notes on and off to the right of the kit screen. This allows you to see if there are any Product notes from the Product Control screen. Transactions F5 The transaction button is only active in the Product Control screen This gives you a graph of all sales for that particular kit number.
This allows you to copy on kit number to another. The new kit number must exist in the product file. Cost F8The Cost button will cost your kits based on the current cost price of the individual part number within the kit. There is an option in setup options that will allow the kits to cost on Average Cost rather than Last Cost.
Once you have run the Cost procedure then run a kit costing report to check for any variances. The delete button is only active in the Product Control screen.
The Add button is only active in the Product Control screen. There are two (2) ways to build up kits. Kit parts may be automatically created at the time of invoice (this is with the ‘Auto Kit Update in invoice “Tick On in the Utility Setup Options – Invoicing) and the other is through goodsin and pre-building kits. Through Goodsin first a supplier is created in supplier control with the ‘KitMFS’ tick on. Then the kit part is entered, along with the number of completed kits required. Upon updating the goodsin (F10) the kit components are depleted according to the kit list and the appropriate quantity of kits are built. There are no financial transactions involved. NOTE: There are various Kit Reports in Product Reports that provide more detail on KITS, they are: - Kit Commonality – shows what parts are common between kits. Kit Detail Report – for full printed details on the components of each kit, their supplier, cost and quantity required. To create a kit to leave on the shelf for selling at a later date. You can create a kit to leave on the shelf for selling at a later date. You must first create a new supplier usually your company name and have kit mfg ticked.
Then go to the goods in screen and enter the new supplier code and invoice the kit number. Once you have updated the goods in, this will update the kit qty in stock by the amount in the goods in, so that you can now sell just the kit number. This is useful for when you have a kit that you would like to leave on the shelf to sell at a later date. If you have the Auto Kit Update in Invoice ticked in the Utility Menu- Invoicing tab, this will reduce the qty of the individual parts and increase the qty of the kit at the time of invoicing so that all stock qty’s will read correctly. Also in the Utility Menu if Suppress Kit Transactions is ticked this will not show all the movements of the kit manufacturing. Kit Manufacture This is a more flexible way of selling a kit , you can allocate a kit to a certain customer, print out a job sheet, then process the invoice once all items have been picked. Once a job card is created it will not take the stock out of the in stock count it will allocate the stock to the customer order and change the available stock count. |
