   You should not need to run the F8 key in the Kit Control screen. Costings should flow through from the components to the Kit as it is sold.  

By default the Kits are costed from the Last Cost of the Components. 
There is a tick in SetupOptions > Product Tab to cost Kits on Average. If you tick this you may not see the correct cost in the Kit Control screen but it will appear in the Product control screen. 

When a Kit is manufactured through the goods in screen the Last and average price are updated from the AveCost of the components by default.

If you manufacture a KIT from the Kit Manufacture screen the average price of the components will be used regardless of the settings. And it will update to the Last and Ave cost of the Kit on completion.

Prior to 99701 When you Manufacture a kit during a sale it would use the last cost of the kit to cost the sale. This has been changed in 99701 to calculate the cost from the average cost components on the fly.

Note****   If Some of the components of the kit are ticked Zero, their cost will not add to the toatal cost of the tick.
